Where are we now?
2 years on…
It’s almost two years since our world was turned upside down, and six months since National Bring Back Boobie Day and things have never been so good. I love my new boob. Dr. Anthony still has a few minor adjustments to make like some lypo to finesse the final shape, and the final masterstroke… a nipple and tattooing. I personally think it’s perfect the way it is but my trusty plastics guy is a perfectionist. I guess that’s why I chose him to bring back Lou.
I have returned to the work force, back to my old job but only working three days a week for now, and with no management responsibility at all. This I like very much… I can concentrate on doing what I enjoy… making people smile and seeing them as excited as I am with their new purchase. I am involved in a breast cancer research study and have had my two minutes and five seconds of fame on the television. My strength and stamina are returning with the help of the research team. Cam, The researcher in charge of the study, has prescribed some dietary and exercise changes that have me feeling fitter and stronger. My hairback with a vengeance, though I’d still like it to happen faster! I am still carrying a bit of excess weight, but who isn’t these days… After all, I can taste all those wonderful flavours again! Best of all though… I no longer look like a cancer patient. Not that I ever really did except for the obvious signs like having no hair, no eye brows, and no eye lashes, but now I don’t have to re-assemble myself each morning before I face the world… It’s wonderful!
…And the Family?
All of our children are well and happy getting on with their lives. Greg is still loving his job and having met many of his colleagues I can see why he enjoys going to work... Or is that because he can get away from me??? Nah… He Loves me! We are going to be grandparents again next year, a little sibling for Dylan... I’m secretly hoping it’s a girl… I just don’t understand boys! There’s also going to be a wedding later in the year... Finally! It’s been a long time coming and something I thought I would never see. Not because of cancer, but because the youth of today don’t seem to place a great importance on marriage. I know it’s just a piece of paper and an excuse to spend thousands of dollars on a party and a frock, but it’s something I have been looking forward to ever since I gave birth to my girls. If nothing else... its my right… right? Brittany has finally found her niche. Floristry! She is loving it may I say and she’s channeling her creative side and nailing it. Kahli has followed in my foot steps and furthered her career and is now assistant general manager, whilst Gab is finishing her high school studies and making us very proud. The boys Nick and Josh? Well, boys will be boys! They’re both getting into all sorts of situation and having fun doing it. Nick is still at uni and Josh is now an apprentice mechanic. As for Kidnapped? Our trusty white steed has been released from her mooring bonds. We sold her to a lovely family who will be taking her on a sailing adventure around Australia. An end of an era for us really. We had some great times on board her and I’m sure there will even more aboard our new home, “Absconder”. She’s a much bigger boat, 48 feet to be precise with a lot more beam. Who knows, maybe one day we will catch a glimpse of Kidnapped’s sleek silhouette on the high seas, or at port while we are out creating new adventures with Absconder. Mmmmm maybe that adventure could be a movie???
3 years on…
Its now over 3 years since that faithful day and I am feeling great. My boob is all finished complete with nipple and tattooing and it looks and feels sensational... It’s so good I could even start anew career as a porn star!!! Now there’s a thought… Nah… too old to start that I think... I am now back to full time work as assistant manager. I know I said I would never go back to management but at least as assistant manager I can leave work behind at the end of the day. We also have been blessed with a beautiful granddaughter (YAY!!! A BABY GIRL!!!) thus completing the classic “pigeon pair”. Ash and Alan are now husband and wife and Josh finally asked Kahli to be his wife. Let the planning begin… AGAIN! Life is pretty awesome right now.
